Golden Spiced Nut Milk

Posted by Shannon Chappelle on

I always say my spice rack is my medicine cabinet.  Spices can be warming or cooling. I love the warming effects of this spiced milk this time of year. And anything good for the body is good for the skin!

This is the perfect vegan nut milk rich in healing spices. This beverage is also great served warm as a cup of tea in the evening.

Today I have Brazil Nuts soaking to make my milk but you can use any raw nuts you like. I've used walnuts, cashews, pumpkin, hazelnut, and almonds.

You can find the recipe for Almond Milk here.

As for your Golden Milk add any spices you like! Fresh or dried Tumeric gives this milk it's golden color. I love adding freshly crushed cardamom, cinnamon, and black pepper and a little maple syrup or honey to sweeten.

Golden Milk

1.5 cups of fresh nut milk

1/2 tsp of dried turmeric

1 pinch of cinnamon

Fresh cracked black pepper

4-5 crushed cardamom pods

Simmer all of the above ingredients on low for 4-5 minutes. Strain. Add 1 tsp of coconut cream or coconut oil and whip in the blender.

Enjoy...!
