I have long believed in the power of superfood nutrients to help us glow from the inside out. Plants are medicine and the Matcha plant is one of Mother Nature’s greatest healers. It has the gift of helping us feel good.
A daily regime of Matcha Green Tea will change the way you feel. The whole leaf of this plant boasts a tsunami of benefits that will calm you but keep you alert, boost your metabolism, burn fat, detoxify and create a force field of antioxidants to protect your cells from free radical damage.
Matcha is the whole leaf ground in to a fine powder. By using the entire leaf you get the full benefits of dense nutrients in the leaf. And in the last three weeks of growth, the tea leaves are covered in shade to produce additional amounts of chlorophyll. Only the youngest most tender leaves are then picked.
The antioxidants in one glass of Matcha is equivalent to 10 glasses of brewed green tea in terms of its nutritional content.
What makes this super food so incredible? Nutritional expert. Dr. Andrew Weil’s website offers this view of Matcha’s powers: It slows down the aging process, boosts skin health, fights certain cancers, burns fat, detoxifies the body, stimulates the immune system, lowers cholesterol, lifts the mood and aids in mental concentration.
Let’s take these benefits one by one.
Slows down the aging process and boosting skin health:
Matcha is a beautiful way to keep you glowing from the inside out. Matcha Green Tea contains catechin polyphenol. These are compounds with very high antioxidant activity that will fight free radical damage.
Thermogenic Fat Burner: Matcha has thermogenic properties and promotes fat oxidation. It will boost metabolism, encouraging our cells to rid themselves of toxins that will essentially lead to a leaner body.
Detoxifier: Chlorophyll brings oxygen to the blood and will assist the body in detoxifying toxic chemicals and heavy metals.
Stimulates the Immune System: The catechins and L-Theanines have an anti-viral effect on flu. It is also antibacterial and will inhibit the growth of parasites and can lift the mood and give an all over sense of well being.
Zen Buddhist Monks are known for drinking this tea in preparation to mediation. And who can argue with that?
