I love the summer season. Summer brings longer warmer days, blossoms on trees, hot sandy beaches, and everything is lighter, clothes, traffic, and yes our foods are lighter too. My gardens are lush with fresh greens and herbs right now. One of my most favorite things to do in life is to prepare meals for my family and friends. I love that I can select fresh ingredients for dinner right in my backyard. I love the energy of living whole foods; it puts me in a place of gratitude.
I like to start my day with 16-32 oz of water with juice of 1 full lemon or 3 T of Apple Cider. This is a great daily detox practice. When I'm hungry I blend up this quick and easy green smoothie:
Summer Sweet Herb Smoothie
2 cups of fresh Parsley + 1 Cup of Spinach + 1/4 Cup of Cilantro + 1 Cup of Water or Sweet Skin Detox Tea or Coconut Water - Blend until smooth
Add 1 Pear +1 Date + 2 T of Flax Meal + Juice of 1 Full Lemon
1 T Marine Collagen by Bend Beauty (optional)
Blend and enjoy! Serves 1
Healthy Tips: If you are sensitive to histamine omit the spinach and dates. Add 3 cups of Parsely instead. Other than that, listen to your body it is your own best doctor. How do you feel after you eat certain foods?
